What Are TIG Tungsten Electrodes?

Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding is a popular type of welding that utilizes tungsten electrodes to join various metals. The tungsten electrode is a critical component in the process, as it channels the current required to establish the arc. The tungsten electrodes can be alloyed with a variety of metals. Different types and sizes of electrodes are used for different types of welds and materials, and welders develop preferences based on welding style and project. Certain electrode types perform better with alternating current (AC) as opposed to direct current (DC).

 These are a 7" Zirconium Tungsten Electrodes with 1/8" Diameter, Ground sold each.

 Zirconium- Tungsten Electrode bears a fine performance in welding under the condition of AC and has a good anti-corrosiveness. Especially in the case of high load of current ,the Zirconium- Tungsten excellent performance is far better than that of other electrodes. When welding ,the end of zirconium- Tungsten Electrode remains pellet shaped, which can reduce the possibility of tungsten oozing .It is suitable for welding magnesium, aluminum and their alloy under alternating current.
